Plant 30 to 40cm apart in full sun with some protection from wind.
Petunias will grow in any soil but bloom better if some compost is added before planting.
Keep watered, otherwise they need little attention.
Pinch back so plants become bushy.
After first flowering, cut back and feed with soluble plant food so plants flower again well into autumn.
The compact varieties are excellent for summer mass bed plantings, and the trailing types are good in tubs and hanging baskets.
