Height

12-25cm

Climate

Prefers a warm climate, though can be grown in cool zones with the provision of a sheltered microclimate.

Planting & Cultivation Tips

Plant 15-20cm apart - most garden soils are suitable except for very heavy clay types that stay wet for long periods.

Are adaptable for both sunny and shady parts of the garden - water regularly and deeply in hot, dry weather but do not keep soil soggy - overwatering can cause plants to rot and powdery mildew can sometimes be a problem.

Once plants are established give complete plant food about once a month.

Peak Flowering Time

Spring through Autumn

Uses

Few other flowers grow so well in heavily shaded places - an excellent plant for beds or borders, pots, troughs and rockeries.

Potted plants make good temporary indoor plants.
