Planting & Cultivation Tips
Plant 20cm apart in preferably full sun though some shade is tolerable.
Grows well in all types of soil, but thrives in good, friable soil with added fertiliser.
Good drainage is essential. Water plants deeply once or twice a week in Summer, rather than frequent sprinkling.
Remove weeds whilst they are small, otherwise the fine roots of the plant will be damaged when large weeds are pulled out.
Give regular liquid feeds of soluble fertiliser to promote flowering and cut back all spent flowers.
Peak Flowering Time
All year round.
Uses
Enjoyed for producing fast-growing reliable colour and fragrance all year round.
Ideal for borders, mass plantings and for adding colour to rockeries. Also good for pots and hanging baskets.
Colour Combinations
Alyssum combines well and provides accent to annuals that are bold in colour such as violas, lobelia and petunias.
